Netaji Subhas Open Schooling (NSOS) is committed to providing quality education up to the secondary level for educationally disadvantaged students across West Bengal. The institution focuses on integrating girls, school dropouts, and students from weaker sections of society into the mainstream education system.

Established under The West Bengal State Open School Board Act, 2013 (Act No. 27 of 2013), passed by the West Bengal Legislature on 29 August 2013, NSOS was created to make education accessible, flexible, and affordable for learners who are unable to pursue regular schooling.

Mission & Objectives

NSOS serves as a bridge between mainstream education and students from rural, backward, and economically weaker communities. As an autonomous educational body, it promotes quality education at both the state and national levels.

• Expand quality education to rural and underserved communities.
• Support SC, ST, OBC, General category students, school dropouts, and over-aged learners.
• Provide equal educational opportunities to marginalized and economically weaker sections.
• Promote women's education and empowerment regardless of caste, creed, religion, language, or background.
• Contribute towards eliminating poverty and illiteracy through education and skill development.
• Encourage social, cultural, educational, health, and economic development for self-reliance.
